How many North American Companies List Themselves as an HRIS vendor or HRMS vendor?
Perform a Google search on HRIS vendor or HRMS vendor and you will notice on the right side at the top of the screen, over 300,000 HRIS vendor or HRMS vendor sites are listed. Do a Google Search on HRIS and over 2,700,000 sites are listed. Now try HRIS System and you will find almost 15 million sites listed.
Are there really this many HRIS software systems on the market? No, you have to think about Google, Yahoo, MSN or others search the web to rank these “HRIS” web sites. These HRIS software listings could be based on articles or single keywords offered in the site text. Many HRIS software companies could be offering the exact same HRIS software products. There are companies on the market who sell their systems through partners or channels. One of these companies might have a thousand or more sites in your 15 million list. Google also shows links. So, even our web site, CompareHRIS.com, might show with well over 100 of those HRIS system listings. So there are not 15 million HRIS software companies but there are that many web sites associated with the term HRIS system.
I actually did a search before starting this site. I found around 75 North American based companies who list as either an HRIS vendor or as an HRMS vendor that actually have those products. Since then, I narrowed down that list from 75 HRIS software vendors to less than 60. We continue to work with these additional HRIS and HRMS vendors on adding their data to the site. The important thing is we offer some of the largest HRIS vendors and some of the most tried and true solutions. We went after the HRIS and HRMS vendors first with the best industry reputations. This is the reason that on our HRIS software product page I show the number of installs and the number of years in business. I am not interested in working with a brand new HRIS software company until they have the installs and years in business to have worked the bugs out and show that their company will continue to be a viable option. Frankly, with most new HRIS systems, they are usually lacking in functionality when they first release a new product and are slow to add more functionality. The point of all this is that there may be 75 HRIS or HRMS software vendors located in North America but if you decided to look at those with a large number of installs and years in business, the list is more likely around 30 or less.
Obviously, you don’t have time to review 15 million sites to find the HRIS vendor or HRMS vendor who offers the application that provides the closest match to your needs.
